Background:
Nepal has been destroyed by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. During this horrific tragedy, amateur radio equipment provided by Radio Mala is being used to pass emergency communications and save lives. There is only one VHF/UHF amateur radio repeater in the entire country, this repeater was donated by GNPN and has been in constant use since the earthquake. GNPN also donated an Elecraft K3 HF station that is being used to establish long-distance communications and provide international aid organizations outside Nepal with situational awareness.
